8th International exhibition of medical treatment abroad InterMed was held on March 14-16, 2017 at Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia.

Compared to 2016 the exhibition has demonstrated significant growth in a number of exhibitors – by 34% and exhibition space – by 16%.

At InterMed 2017 leading medical facilities from 16 countries, including the most required among Russians destinations for medical tourism, presented their services:

·         Israel: Tel Aviv Medical Centre Sourasky-Ichilov, chain of medical centres ‘Clalit’, Top Doctors Clinic, D.R.A. Medical and Amsalem Medical companies;
·         Germany: Medical Centre-University of Freiburg, Women`s Health Department of the Tübingen University Hospital, Waldfriede Clinic and Meoclinic;
·         Austria: Revital Aspach Medical Centre, Austrian Health company, Austrian Embassy –Commercial Section ‘Advantage Austria’;
·         Finland: Helsinki University Hospital, Helena Clinic;
·         Latvia: Riga 1st hospital, Riga Tourism Development Bureau ‘Live Riga’.

And besides, medical centres and companies, organising treatment abroad, from France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Singapore, Turkey, Ukraine and USA took part in the exhibition.

In 2017 the exhibition was attended by 6 251 people that is more than in 2016. Visitors met with foreign specialists, got free consultations and the ‘second’ opinion on conducted checkups and assigned treatment. Free medical consultations were held by the doctors of Helena Clinic, Revital Aspach Medical Centre and by the specialists of Riga 1st hospital that successfully carried out medical examination at a distance.

Presentation and workshop ‘Treatment in Austria’, organised by Austrian Embassy – Commercial Section on 14 March, became a key event of the exhibition business programme. Leading Austrian and Russian medical organisations, such as Armona Medical Alpinresort, EBG MedAustron GmbH, EMCO Private Hospital, SANLAS Holding GmbH took part in the business meeting.

Moreover, the exhibitors presented their services at the specially organised demonstration area. Presentations of Medical Tourism Agencies Association and Riga Tourism Development Bureau ‘Live Riga’ aroused particular interest among visitors.

Overall, InterMed 2017 is characterised by positive changes that is proved by the following facts and figures:

·         100% of the exhibitors consider participation in exhibition to be important for their business development;
·         92% of exhibitors increased brand awareness of their companies;
·         88% of exhibitors found new customers and partners;
·         81% of exhibitors successfully entered new market;
·         88% of exhibitors plan to take part in the exhibition in 2018.
 
9th International exhibition of medical treatment abroad InterMed will be held on March 13-15, 2018 in Moscow, Russia within International Travel & Tourism Exhibition MITT.
